–I took a break over the summer, but it’s time to bring the Book Shares back!  I love sharing some of my favorite books with you, and I hope you can find some interesting, fun, and informative reads among them. —

When I first began to explore the idea of homeschooling, I read every book on the subject I could get my hands on.  Seriously.  I literally devoured every book about homeschooling at my local library, and then went looking for more.

September Book Share: The Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling

I was scared.  I wanted to do things right.  And I needed all the help I could get.

And for me, this book was a jewel.

I needed information:  How could I make time for homeschooling?  How could I choose a curriculum?  How would I know I was doing enough?  What was the best way to transition into homeschooling?  How could I have an organized homeschool?

My list of questions went on and on, and this book, The Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling, went a long way toward answering them all.

No kidding.  This book by Debra Bell is a one-stop-shop for information on homeschooling.

Whether you are just beginning to consider homeschooling and you need help sorting out the pros and cons of such a move, or you’re a newbie looking for help with curriculum choices, or you’re an experienced homeschooler dealing with burnout, The Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling is full of valuable information to answer your every question and offer suggestions for your every difficulty.

This book was priceless to me in my early days of homeschooling when I knew so little, and yet I have resorted to it again and again in the years since.  At times along the way I have needed to change direction with a particular subject, or I’ve realized I needed a new approach for a child with a different learning style, and The Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling has again been a source of information and encouragement.  It is filled with suggestions, and offers links and book lists to guide you toward more information where you might need it.

Hands down, this is one of my favorite books on homeschooling.  Whether you’re just looking into your child’s education options, you’re a brand new homeschooler, or you’re a homeschooling veteran, The Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling is a valuable resource to have in your home library.
